Aboriginal Arts Committee


a constituent part of the Australia Council, with the purpose of distributing funding to support the preservation and revitalisation of Aboriginal art; set up in 1989 to replace the Aboriginal Arts Board which had been one of the seven wings of the Australia Council since its inception in 1973.
